The first place where cherry blossoms bloom in Da Lat

Dalat is entering cherry blossom season and currently only flowers are blooming in Cau Dat tea hill area.

When the wild sunflower season passes, it’s time for Dalat to enter cherry blossom season. The first cherry blossoms in the mountain town have now bloomed. This year’s flower season is considered late, only flowers on Cau Dat tea hill are in full bloom. In other places in the city, the flowers show no signs of blooming. In the picture are the first cherry blossoms blooming at the tea hill in Cau Dat, about 20 km from the center of Da Lat city.

Mr. Pham Kim Nhan, a tourism worker in Da Lat City, said that the cherry blossoms at Cau Dat tea hill have been blooming since the New Year, and now they are almost all in bloom, and a few trees are starting to sprout new leaves.

Mr. Nhan said that since the beginning of January, the number of visitors to Cau Dat has been highest on weekends. On average, every day, Mr. Nhan welcomes about 10-20 guests with a schedule of hunting clouds in the early morning, then going to the tea hill to check in with peach blossoms.

Dalat cherry blossoms bloom at the right time of beautiful weather. During the day it is warm and sunny, the temperature is about 25 degrees Celsius, early morning and evening it is cold about 12-13 degrees. According to Mr. Nhan, visitors should come to the tea hill and take pictures with the flowers around 7am or in the afternoon, when the light sunshine creates beautiful lighting effects.

Cau Dat tea hill area is open for visitors to visit, see flowers, and take pictures for free. Visitors are asked not to litter and not to pick flowers or break tea leaves.

Cherry blossoms in Cau Dat area, the suburbs, always bloom the earliest in Da Lat, followed by flowers in Mong Dao Nguyen, Xuan Tho, Trai Mat, Tuyen Lam Lake and flowers in the center bloom last.

Depending on the weather, cherry blossoms bloom for 2-3 weeks and then fade. From now until the end of January, beginning of February, tourists can plan to visit Da Lat to hunt for flowers.

In the photo, tourists check in at a place with cherry blossoms blooming brightly in the tea hill area.

Cherry blossoms grown on Cau Dat tea hill are woody trees, 5-7 m high, with a canopy of 3-5 m wide. The tree trunk is large and tall, similar to peach trees in the northern mountains, but the flowers have 5 petals and pistils similar to apricot flowers in the south.
